About me
My name is Dewi bint Ibrahim Sahupala — a Muslim mother of five, a civil engineer and Master of Urban Design by profession, and an artist at heart. My journey began with lines and structures, but it is within the curves of calligraphy that I found my true expression. Through this, I learned that true success comes through Allah's ridha -- His pleasure.
Drawing and designing have always been my quiet companions, yet calligraphy has long been the language of my soul. Though I never studied it formally, its beauty called to me from a young age. Recently, I was blessed to learn under the guidance of a master calligrapher in Lahore, Pakistan, a teacher whose wisdom deepened both my craft and my devotion.
Every stroke I paint springs from my faith — from the stillness of remembrance and the yearning to reflect the divine through form and ink. I am not yet a master, but I walk this path with humility and perseverance, believing that each letter drawn with sincerity is a step closer to worshiping Allah (SWT) through art.
This journey is for Allah azza wa jalla, my prayer, my worship, my venerated dhikr— a devotion in motion, written in lines of light and love.
Inspiration
My inspiration is deeply rooted in my unshaken belief in Allah, Azza wa Jalla. In all that I do, my purpose remains simple yet profound — to seek His pleasure, and to walk within the grace of His law. Every line I draw, every word I write, is a humble offering of gratitude and devotion. My art, in its essence, is part of the legacy I hope to leave for my children.
Beyond Allah, they are the ones who anchor my soul — my strength through life’s ebb and flow, through laughter and tears, days and nights, hopes and prayers, love and chaos. They have colored my world with silly jokes and bedtime stories, fevers and sleepless nights, whispers of “I love you,” and the echoes of laughter in a darkened house during games of hide and seek.
Together, we’ve shared anime marathons, art projects, maths exams, long essays in social studies and world histories, science experiments, and the quiet miracles of everyday life. But most of all through learning about Islam, thriving and growing to be better Muslims together. These five brave souls, entrusted to me by Allah, are my greatest blessing — second only to the gift of being a Muslim.
Service offered
I welcome commissioned pieces that reflect your heart’s devotion — whether it is your favorite du’a, a cherished short surah or ayah from the Holy Qur’an, a dzikir (remembrance of Allah Ta’ala), or one of Allah’s 99 Beautiful Names.
You may share with me your preferred color palette and canvas size, and I will create an initial design sketch for your review and approval before I begin painting on the final canvas.
The price varies according to the canvas size and the time and detail required for completion. Each artwork is crafted with care and reflection, and the entire process typically takes about four weeks from start to finish.
